Guthertz pressing for buildup answers | Pacific Daily News | guampdn.com

Sen. Judith Guthertz has repeated demands to know the position of military and federal officials on the buildup, and on the long-term presence of the U.S. military in the Pacific.

In a letter sent Aug. 30 to Jackalyne Pfannenstiel, assistant secretary of the Navy, Guthertz asked that President Barack Obama issue a strong statement to members of Congress reaffirming the administration's support for the agreement to relocate 8,000 Marines and their 9,000 dependents from Okinawa to Guam.
